As Jack Frost starts to nip at the nose, our guys are warming their faces with moustaches and beards to show their support and raise awareness for men’s cancers through the “Movember” movement.
Movember is only one of the charities that Doremians have chosen to support. Driven by Winston Churchill’s quote that, “We make a living by what we do. We make a life by who we are,” we asked everyone to suggest charities that meant something to them.

Charity: water raises capital to drill fresh water wells in Third World countries. Recently we volunteered our staff to brainstorm ideas around their upcoming annual "charity: ball." The brainstorm went really well, and since their office is located just a couple of floors down from us, we're planning to hold regular brainstorm sessions in the new year. In addition, Doremians regularly help out in their off-hours, stuffing envelopes and organizing invitations for the charity’s fund raisers.
The agency is also continuing its annual coat drive and answering the “Winter Wishes” letters from children through New York Cares.
And on any given morning, Doremians take turns at the St. Peter’s Church Breakfast Program, located on Lexington Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. There, they serve food and bus tables for the homeless who visit the kitchen for their first meal before starting another challenging day.
At “God’s Love We Deliver,” our volunteers pick up hot lunches from restaurants and deliver them to the homebound in the New York City area.
“These are very tough times for far too many people, and since we are all in this together, we asked our people for suggestions of charities we could help as an agency. The organizations they chose are close to their hearts, which makes their contributions of time and treasure all the more meaningful.”
~ Allison Womack, Managing Director of Doremus New York.
We plan to keep the charity initiatives and opportunities going beyond the holiday season, and charities selected in the future will continue to be chosen by employees.
